At the foundation of energy based medicine lies the belief that
the body's vital energy, or Qi (pronounced "chee"), must be kept
in balance in order to maintain good health. Just as water flows
in a stream through the natural landscape, your vital energy, or Qi,
flows through the channels in your body.
If the channels become blocked, the flow of Qi is disrupted,
causing pain, disease, or emotional distress. Over time, if the
underlying imbalance is not treated, chronic illness can result.
It is important to remember that pain and sickness are not inevitable;
rather, they are abnormal states that can be treated and transcended
with a sound, holistic approach to wellness.
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is the oldest, continually practiced,
professionally administered medicine in the world. It is a powerful,
clinically tested and proven medical system that is fast becoming
a primary health care resource for a wide variety of health problems.
TCM differs from conventional Western medicine in that it does not
focus on simply treating the symptoms of disease; TCM addresses the
whole person, determining and treating the root cause of disease.
After a thorough exam and evaluation, which includes extensive
discussion with the patient, I determine a "pattern diagnosis."
Your "pattern" is made up not only of your physical symptoms,
but also your emotional state and the overall composition of
your body. Your individual treatment plan will include a variety of
techniques including:
acupuncture,
herbology,
tui na,
kinesiology,
hypnotherapy, and
meditation and qi gung.
"I have recommended quite a few friends to Noran, and all have thanked me
profusely. The funny thing is that we all compare our treatments and they are
all quite different. Without a doubt we are all individuals with different
problems, why should our treatments be the same? For some it's acupuncture,
for some it's herbs, for some it's hypnosis and for others it's simply his
guidance. Regardless, Noran explores all options and finds the correct one
for his valued patients." -- A.B.
